It’s turning out to be a breakout year for Jollo Go.
The third-year guard out of Hope Christian HS hardly made an impact in his first two years with the team as he only saw action in 17 total games and averaging 2.5 points. Known for his outside sniping in the junior ranks, he only made a total of 5 three-pointers in the UAAP prior to this season.
This year however, things are starting to take a turn for the better. Jollo has so far been impressive for the Green Archers. Though still playing as a reserve, Go has been making the most out of the playing time he gets, averaging 7.1 points with a league-best 47.8% efficiency from beyond the arc. He scored a career-high 19 points against NU last September 16.
In last Wednesday win against FEU, Jollo finished with 14 points and made the crucial baskets down the stretch to thwart the comeback trail by the Tamaraws.
He thanks his coaches and teammates for never losing faith in him despite his early struggles.

“Thankful lang ako sa mga teammates and coaches ko. Grabe ang confidence na binibigay nila,”
“Every time sinasabihan nila ako na be confident lang, stick lang to the system, stick lang ako sa role ko. Binibigay ko lang yung best ko,”
Now that he’s being given the green light to shoot, Go is more than willing to keep firing as his confidence continues to rise.
“Lagi ko lang iniisip na pinapayagan naman ako if open ako, bakit di ko itira? So pag open ako, tinira ko na. Thank God pumasok.”
Not bad for a player who asked permission to sit out this season because he felt that he doesn't have it anymore. You bailed us out today.

This just shows that as long as you be patient and persevere, good things happen.
