Misfiring La Salle falls to UE for second loss this season

If you do not capitalize on your chances, then you are going to lose.

That is the painful lesson the De La Salle University Men’s Football Team learned as it succumbed to a 0-1 loss at the hands of the University of the East Red Warriors last February 28, 2019, at the FEU-Diliman turf in Quezon City.

Alvin Ocampo’s wards conjured 18 shots of which six were on target compared to the Red Warriors’ five and two respectively. La Salle also bossed most of the possession in the game, only to fall to Mark Lerion’s fine strike at the 51st minute of the contest.

With a one-goal lead, UE defended superbly and deserved its luck as Red Warriors goalie performed routine stop after routing stop to deny La Salle an equalizer.

The result leaves La Salle with one win and two defeats in the first three games this season. Another tricky fixture awaits the team in the form of the National University Bulldogs. That game shall be played in FEU-Diliman on March 3, 2019. Kickoff is at 3:00 PM.

Here’s hoping that the team wears its shooting boots by then.
