The De La Salle University Women’s Football Team fought out a 2-2 stalemate against the University of Santo Tomas Lady Booters, Saturday afternoon at the Circulo Verde field in Quezon City.
Captain Kyra Dimaandal’s fine finish from close range and rookie Shai del Campo’s header in the second half negated strikes from UST’s Hazel Lustan and Mary Joy Indac.
Coah Hans-Peter Smit’s wards had two good chances to win the contest in the final minutes but the UST crossbar denied Maye Mendaño and Irish Navaja’s efforts.
Smit lamented the errors from his team but found a silver lining after the game. “One point is better than zero points. We’re still doing well as long as we don’t lose. Ang habol naman is to get to the top two (spots in the standings) so we just have to maintain that.”
The result leaes La Salle with 4 points in the standings and it shall next face University of the Philippines on March 16, 2019, 1:00 PM at Circulo Verde.
