The Green Archers notched their 3rd straight victory after a 0-2 season start as they thrashed the UE Red Warriors 87-63 today.
How it happened
The Archers were not only expected to win this match, they were expected to win big. They however got off to a slow start trailing 3-9 in the early goings of the game. Both teams were tied at 13 after the opening period.
With its offense and defense now in high gear, La Salle finally took control of the game come the second period. The Archers built their lead off their swarming defense which led to several fast break points and easy inside baskets. The team erected a 19-point lead at the half.
Unlike their last two games, La Salle kept the intensity going in the second half and never gave UE the slightest opportunity to threaten their huge lead.
Oda Tampus led the team with 15 points followed by Simon Atkins and LA Revilla with 12 and 10 points respectively. All 16 Archers played today including sophomore Martin Reyes who was able to chip in 4 points in the closing seconds. Adrian Santos top scored for the Red Warriors with 14 points.
