The De La Salle Green Archers won their third straight game by taking down the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 67-48, on Saturday evening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Leading the Green Archers was Kib Montalbo, who put up 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists in his third stint as starting point guard.
Rookie Prince Rivero had his second straight impressive performance, finishing with 12 markers and playing an integral role in La Salle’s strong third quarter.
Entering the second half, DLSU was ahead only by 5, 23-18, but extended it’s lead to 31-25 following two straight jumpers by Montalbo.
A three-pointer by Rivero after extended the lead to nine, after which consecutive scores by DLSU off turnovers gave them a double-digit lead.
La Salle was up by 16, 45-29, after the third quarter and never surrendered the lead.
Jeron Teng only had two points while Jason Perkins finished with two markers and eight rebounds.
Abu Tratter finished with seven points in his first starting role, as he filled in for the injured Arnold Van Opstal.
After the contest, DLSU head coach Juno Sauler said that Van Opstal has been battling injuries since the preseason, and was advised by the team doctor to sit him for today’s contest.
The same was the case for Norbert Torres, who missed the game against the Soaring Falcons after a strong outing against UE.
Almond Vosotros and Julian Sargent also had good showings, combining for 16 points while Yutien Andrada had 6.
