Just when we thought their season is practically over, UP has picked up two big wins against Ateneo and Adamson this past week to put themselves within striking distance of the top 4 spots in the standings. Yes, the Maroons still have a “fighting” chance for the Final 4 and expect them to go all out today and sustain their winning run.
For La Salle, the good news is that Jeron Teng is expected to be back in action after missing two games.
Though they have the overwhelming edge in all areas, the Green Archers still can’t be complacent in this game. The Maroons have shown in their recent matches that they can hang tough even against the strong teams like FEU whom they almost beat in the first round.
UP came out guns ablaze last Wednesday and at the same time did a masterful job on the defensive end. Unfortunately for them, the Green Archers have too many weapons at their disposal and the Maroons would need to play an “almost perfect game” for them to have a chance.
La Salle needs to take the fight out of the Fighting Maroons right from the start. They had slow starts in their last two games but this won’t be the case with Jeron on board once again.
This game gives the team an opportunity to recover from whatever went wrong in the last game. A big win here will give them some sort of momentum heading into their showdown against NU on Wednesday.
