A Quick Look at the Green Archers’ 2017 UAAP Roster

The roster of the Green Archers for this upcoming UAAP Season has been revealed.

No surprises. This is basically the same unit that played in all the preseason tournaments. Though there are available players in the training pool, they decided not to maximize the allowable number of players per team which is 16.

Seniors Kib Montalbo, the remaining member of that 2013 championship team and Prince Rivero will be the team captains.

Gone from last year’s championship squad due to graduation are Jeron Teng, Thomas Torres, Jason Perkins and Julian Sargent. Mark Dyke meanwhile has moved to FEU and will do residency this season. Jboy Gob has not fully recovered from his injury and shall sit out for the second straight year.

After some kid broke his commitment, the Green Archers will not have any straight-from-high school rookie for the first time in almost 30 years. All newcomers in the squad are college transferees.

This marks a new era for the team. Even with the loss of Teng, the school community and fans should still remain excited for this roster. With the remaining holdovers and the new recruits that best fit Coach Ayo’s “Mayhem”, expect the Green Archers to grind it out for every point and possession with the goal of winning back-to-back UAAP titles.
