Still undefeated in Round 2, Lady Spikers are a win away from a twice-to-beat

Having not played for more than two weeks, the Lady Spikers showed signs of rust in the early going of their match against UST yesterday.

It was a slow start for the defending champs in the opening set as they found themselves trailing the Golden Tigresses 19-23. Fortunately, the managed to get their act together and clawed their way back to snatch the win.

The succeeding sets were also close. Even if UST is already out of contention, they still managed to put up a good fight. In the end, La Salle prevailed in straight sets to remain on top of the standings at 10-2.

“Well, ito ‘yung isang sakit ng La Salle eh. Pagka long break, pag balik dito medyo kinakalawang. So ito nga ‘yung palagi kong nire-remind ‘yung team na pagka ganitong mahabang bakasyon, pagbalik medyo hindi tama, maraming mga unforced error na ginagalaw. Parang hindi magkakakilala sa loob,”

Kim Dy led with team with 12 points followed by Majoy Baron with 9. The Lady Spikers have now won 6 games in a row and is the only that remains undefeated in round 2.

They can seal the top spot and the twice-to-beat edge in the Final 4 with a win against Adamson on Wednesday.
