With their offense in high gear after a slow start, the De La Salle Green Archers edge University of Cebu 82-66 to start the Araw ng Davao Collegiate Basketball Tournament yesterday night.
Trailing the Webmasters 11-14 after the opening period, the team went on an 18-1 run to take control of the match and lead by 10 at the half.
In the third quarter, UC managed to trim the deficit to as low as 4 points but La Salle once again pulled away behind a 13-2 spree. They led 57-46 entering the final frame.
The Green Archers continued to light it up in the fourth as their lead went up as high as 20 points. Senegalese center Amadou Ndiaye topscored with 13 points while Joaqui Manuel and Encho Serrano each added 10.
Other teams participating in this four-day, four-team tournament are UE and LPU. La Salle shall next face the Red Warriors tonight.
